Help me find a new player

(1/1)

So my Sandisk Clip + has a dying battery.  Charge only goes for maybe 3 hours if I am lucky.  So I jumped on Amazon to replace and boy am I SOL.  So I came to the RB site to see if the new Sandisk Jam was supported and see that no it is not, not enough ram.  Ok, so I go through the list of supported players and look them up on Amazon and they all seem to be discontinued.  I am here looking for suggestions for a replacement unit for a Clip +.  I only use it for audio books and mainly at night going to bed or during the evening when watching TV (My wife watches some amazingly shitty shows, so I listen to a book).  The things I love about the Clip + is the fact that it is so small, but that is not a deal killer.  The audio books I have are all MP3 format, so manual control of moving files is a must, ie... no Ipod using Itunes.  Please hit me up with some suggestions.  I am really thinking about biting the bullet and getting a new Clip + for the high price now before it is too late.  I also want to try out the Jam, even though it has a bunch of bad reviews about audio book files playing out of sequence.

Thanks

I have my eye on a Xduoo X3 if and when my Clip+ bites the dust.  Only based on what I have read but could be one for you to consider.

Some Sony players are already supported, with more being ported to right now.

Does the Xduoo X3 support Rockbox?

The Xduoo X3 port is being discussed here

It seems to have reached a usable state with a few minor issues.
