sansa clip+ runs hot & massive battery-drain with 64gb-microsd
(1/1)
addictedtomycamera:
hey there
few days ago, i prepared a new 64gb-microsd-card for my clip+ (newest version of rockbox). put all the music from my old 16gb-card onto the new 64gb-card. player starts normal, but after about one hour of using the battery drains "massively" and the player heatens up.
does anybody know this problem from other clip+-players? or what can be wrong with my player?
fennectech:
Would you try a smaller partition size on your sdcard? say 16 or 32 gigs to see if the size of the filesystem is causing rockbox to cache? Also try turning off dircache first. It sounds to me like dircache is filling up the cache running out of space then dumping it over and over (or something is overflowing and causing the cache to be destroyed and rebuilt)
saratoga:
If it heats up a lot it might be a short. Are the pins on the SD card and in the clips SD slot straight and undamaged? Does it work OK without the card?
fennectech:
Cany ou try a different card? and try that carcd in diffferent hardware?
