Skip forward/backwards buttons not working on SanDisk Sansa Clip

(1/1)

Tom1978:
Hi,

I have a Sansa Clip with RockBox 3.13 installed - working fine for several years now.

Yesterday, the "skip track forward/backwards" buttons (I assume thats what they are called - the two buttons at east and west on the front of the player) stopped working, sort of. When pressed once, the track does not skip to the next track, or back to the start of the track, as they used to for many years.

I think I might have inadvertently changed a setting e.g. to set the player so that it only plays one track and then stops (? is this even possible?)

Reason I think this is because the buttons themselves work fine for other purposes e.g. I can long-press to fast forward/rewind and they are used to navigate/cycle round menu options so its not the hardware thats broken.

Also, if I let a track play through to the end, or fast forward to end of the track, the player just stops - it doesn't restart the track, or automatically cycle onto the next track in the playlist. It just gets to the end of the track and then waits (not freezes, just stops....)

The only way I can move onto the next track in a playlist is to enter the 'current playlist' option and select the next track manually - which is a bit of a chore!

Anyone got any ideas what I might have done!?

Cheers
Tom

saratoga:
Party mode (track skip disabled) probably.

You can check what settings you've changed easily on a PC just by opening the config.cfg file in a text editor by the way.

Tom1978:
ok brill thanks - will have a look at the config file and a quick browse of the manual to see how to disable party mode (new one to me!)
