Sansa Clip+ seems to have no firmware inside
« on: May 16, 2017, 06:54:10 AM »
Hey. First of all, sorry if there has been a thread like this. I tried finding it but failed.

So I had two Sansa Clip +'s with rockbox installed on each one. One was just waiting to replace the other one at some point.

Now that the time came, I try turning it on - nothing. Connect to computer (I'm running linux) - nothing. "lsusb" and similar commands I tried show no results. When I plug it into windows, it gets discovered but says that the device has driver problems and I still cannot access the file system on it. There is surely no external damage because the device was purchased, installed rockbox on, and put away.
One thing that was on my mind was that maybe I somehow flashed rockbox onto sd card which I had in it, and now do not anymore? Could that be a problem?

Thanks!

The Sandisk firmware, rockbox and the rockbox bootloader all have USB mode. If you aren't in one of these, then you can't use USB.

Try and get the player to reboot into at least one of these. If you can't, it's probably broken.
