Play Audible.com files on Sandisk Sansa Clip+

I would like to Play Audible.com files on Sandisk Sansa Clip+.
Will Rockbox allow me to turn up the volume a little.
The Sandisk Sansa Clip+ has a limited volume, I need to turn it up a little when I use my 3M ear protector headphone with a 3.5mm input.

Do I risk bricking when I download Rockbox?  I've downloaded firmware many time in other devices but see some 'bricking' stories on the forum.

You cannot play Audible files when in Rockbox.

can I use Rockbox to set the volume louder and then revert to Default operating and have it retain new louder setting?

No, and rockbox will change anything about the original firmware either.
