Ipod Video 5g with 256gb SSD ATA Error

Having ATA errors -11 and -32 upon boot with a 256 GB ssd, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FVU7XF8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 is the hard drive, and https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XV9Z6KQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1is the adapter I'm using. I have also gotten an error saying unsupported disk size. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

edit: I have been able to use the rockbox firmware once or twice after getting this error, but have been unsuccessful since. This is a windows formatted drive that works perfectly okay with OF.

Does the Apple firmware work?  Those ATA errors usually mean the disk couldn't be accessed.

Regular apple firmware works, I have tried both the rockbox utility, and manual installation with ipod patcher. I can even access ipod firmware with rockbox installed.

Also to add, it did let me in a couple times, but then kept giving me the error.
