Post on the sandisk forums says its nearly identical to the Sport, so probably in the same category as that.

Be interesting to see whats inside it to be sure however.

There is firmware update file on sandisk site for clip jam. Quick inspection shows the format used on ATJ chips so the player is closely related to clip sport most probably.

Apart from the non-Rockability issue, the producer seems to be crippling the heck out of the subsequent models.

Less battery time in Jam than sport, monochrome, smaller screen. The company must be in the retreat.

Hello. I just purchased a Sansa Clip Jam. So far it seems to be almost identical to my good old Sansa Clip+.
But can anyone tell me for sure I can install the Rockbox on it? Just want to make sure before demolishing the standard software.

Assuming you mean a page file rather than virtual memory, the device has an MMU that is meant to be used to map various types of storage into virtual address space, probably including NAND. You could write a simple firmware similar to the OF that used this, but it's not useful for rockbox.

My guess is that there would be too much wear on the flash.
