iPod 4G: 'Select' button needs to be pressed twice after rebooting Rockbox

Not a big deal, but can someone check whether this is an issue with the 4g grayscale iPod target only or a more general issue (on other iPods at least)?

Not sure whether I've never noticed this or just accepted it as normal, but if the very first button that you press after booting Rockbox is the button in the center of the wheel, it won't have an effect, unless you've touched the surface of the surrounding wheel area first.

By 'booting rockbox' do you mean 'after first turning the ipod on'?

If so, then that doesn't seem to be the case with the ipod classic I just tried.

Though, on the other hand, I do sometimes find using the click wheel to change the volume doesn't respond unless you first press one of the clickwheel buttons (and then more buttons to get back to the while playing screen, whereupon the volume adjustment responds normally again).  Not sure in what circumstances that happens though.  (i.e. it's sort-of the opposite problem to what you describe)

Issue doesn’t appear to exist on the iPod video, either. Probably just the 4g (and, possibly, earlier generations) then...

Hi Chris, have you tried using a dev version of the firmware? Had this same issue on my ipod mini 2g and it was recently patched.
