iPod Classic Hard Drive Crash
« on: January 28, 2017, 11:26:03 AM »
I have the last gen Classic 160.  It stopped playing and would only display a black screen.  I tried restoring to iTunes and reinstalling Rockbox, but iTunes won't restore.  Now it shows Rockbox as being an incomplete installation.  I can't reformat the hard drive, nor will it allow me to install emcore.  Do I need a new hard drive, or is there another way to get this one working?

Problem solved.  I was using Rockbox Utility to eject iPod after trying to install, which was leaving me with an incomplete installation.  I succeeded using an older version of Rockbox I had and ejecting using Windows.
