Ipod mini and other, how to enable max volume limit?
« on: January 20, 2017, 09:46:43 AM »
For some reason, i have this setting on my xduoo x3 in RB but it's missing in the ipod mini menu. Can i bring it back somehow?
I'm asking because the ipod mini in RB allows me to set a volume of +6dB but +1 is the max value i can use without the player going full clipping on the output.
So i want to set max volume level to +1dB.

I don't have a iPod mini, but the manual states that there is a volume limit setting under Sound Settings:

https://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-ipodmini1g/rockbox-buildch6.html#x8-1030006.3

I have this setting on all my rockboxed players.

But who knows, maybe this setting is not implemented for a reason on the iPod mini.

I suspect you're running 3.13 on the mini. The volume limiter was added after that.

I'm using the RB installer. Shouldn't the installer download the latest version?
Post edit: I just checked and rockbox info reports Version 3.13
Is there a more recent version for the ipod mini?

You're a few years out of date.  Run the installer again and choose the current development build.
