ipod 5.5 back button won't work

(1/1)

atheist:
Hello,

I have an Ipod video 5.5.  the back button won't work as of installation.  any ideas?  let me know what info I can post.  I've tried re-installing rockbox, but no luck.

Thanks,

-Steve

Does it work if you boot into the Apple firmware?

atheist:
not really sure; in apple firmware it appears to me that you page back and forth through menus using the menu and select buttons.  i don't have any itunes music on it, so i can't access my songs through the apple firmware that i know of.

in rockbox, when I want to go up a level in a directory, the menu button takes me back to the main menu, not up a level. I had been using the back button with my rockboxed sansa clip, and expected similar behavior with the ipod.  maybe there's a way to change that?

appreciate the response!

i put some itunes music on it, and the back button does not work to navigate through a playlist while a song is playing in the apple firmware; i can only go to the next song in the list.  when the display dims, however, the back button will wake up the screen.  don't know if that helps at all.
