Just returned to this thread, and tried the solution by Saratoga, it seems to fix the issue, don't know if cpu is kept on lower frequency to increase battery life, but it seems to handle the problem, if I encounter again this problem I will return and post my experience.

This has started to happen to me again, I'm going to try the cpu frequency adjustment and see if that makes any difference.

It seems every time you boot the audio device, it turns again to frequency 0, is there a way to make it default 1 on boot?

Does this clip+ build work any better?

Saratoga,

Thanks, actually the devices I'm using right now is Zen and Zen X-FI, I also have a CLIP+ which I can install that firmware, that workaround you told fixes the problem, for permanent fix would be to set cpu to 1 on boot.

I don't know much about the Zen players, but if there is a problem with CPU frequency scaling on the clip I'd be interested in finding out more.

Do you know of any cfg file or similar, which address all settings of rockbox? We could manually set cpu frequency on that file, if possible.

There is no persistent setting for frequency scaling. It is set at compile time.
