Pauses on audio playback
« on: January 05, 2017, 06:03:38 AM »
Dear All,

I don't know if you have this bug, but on latest firmwares, on both devices, Sansa clip+ and Creative Zen, the audio playback pauses from now and then, like in the middle of the music it halts for a second and continues, also I notice that menus aren't responsive, like the feeling the cpu is using at its maximum, and can't handle the audio playback or handling menus, only way to get back to control is to attach an USB cable to a computer to complete stop the playback and now the menus start to respond.

Has anyone else has this bug? I have tried upgrading to the latest firmware and the bug is still there.

Have you verified this with a fresh/empty config.cfg file?

Downloading a new build doesn't delete the config file. Did you also do that?

Also, what file types? And exact build number?

Thanks all for the replies, my build version is 3190728, downloaded just today, it happens on mp3 files, don't know if this helps, but the album is record on 320kbps, don't know if it is the cause of it, but it gives the feeling the cpu is being used to its maximum strength, and all the system becomes extremely slow, not able to playback correctly and the menus not responsible.

If you play from sd card - try play from internal flash.

Hi there, I have found an mp3 that it happens everytime I run it, after a few seconds the menus don't respond and audio pauses during the playback.

I will upload as test subject.

Don't know if someone here likes Depeche Mode, this is just a demo, because this happens with other mp3 files.

Just recharged the battery to full, and it happens.

Thanks

Even with latest firmware, the problem remains, are you tried using the menus they start to not respond, just updated the bootloader with latest Creative Zen, and no solve.

Yes, navigated thru various menus, still responsive.
No pausing.

I am experiencing this exact same problem since I updated to the latest release, did you manage to find a solution? The description is percisely what I am getting, cuts out for a couple of seconds, comes back, cuts again, all the while unresponsive when this happens. It happens with mp3 and playing from both the SD card and the internal flash.

If you go into system > debug > CPU frequency and then icrease the boost count above 1, does that make any difference?

I will give that a try. I have just renamed my config file to start afresh and so far no issues but it's quite random so I will test it over the next few days and if it comes back I will try that suggestion.
