Is the new iPod Classic bootloader Windows-only?

So, finally it seems that a proper bootloader for iPod Classics is in the works, well done 8). I would like to test it, but I'm no Windows user, and it seems that currently it needs a patched version of RU that has only been released for Windows, so far.

Am I correct? Can I create the patched version for Linux by myself?

I don't think anyone has posted binaries for linux, but the tools will compile for it.  I'd recommend just using the command line tools though since there is less to build:
