Recently I've been encountering bad responsiveness on my 5G iPod with the Samsung HS12YHA 120GB drive. Seems like it started when I upgraded from a build from January 4th 2016 to one from October, based on 2a2800b. I
made a few changes, but I don't view those as suspicious. Maybe the drive is going bad, but the SMART info looks good and it passed a short self test.
It's most obvious when some playback gets resumed, and then I want to play something else. It can take a while for that to have any effect. Also, skipping tracks is sometimes slow. The pause is longer than just the spinup time, and in fact it seems like there is a lot of disk activity as I'm waiting. I don't remember these sorts of things happening before the build upgrade. None of these things happen every time.
