Errors in Rockbox and Utility
« on: October 24, 2016, 11:43:40 AM »
10/24/16
I installed Rockbox on my iPod mini (unsure as to generation).
It "sort of" worked...but today i gt a Checksum error and Rockbox would not load.
It read (with abbreviations):
bad Checksum Insert USB and hold Menu+Select...Length 8D7DC....Chrcksum 374A668
Sum 374A5AC

So then I decided to run the UTILITY to either remove Rockbox..and reinstall..or "update" (anything necessary to get it working again)
Well..I plugged in my ipod and waited...and finally tried to Run the utility and got "Downoad Error...HTTP error"

So, what do I do now?
The Rockbox screen is stuck on "Can't load RockBox....but the SUM is now 374A622

Thanks in advance...any help appreciated..

Jeff

PS I forgot to turn on Notifications...so I'm reposting..ok?

Usually that means that the file system is corrupted and the rockbox binary is no loner intact.  Try checking the disk for errors and then downloading a new build (you can use the link on the left side of your screen).

I do not know how to check drive for errors.
I'm in W10.
I right clicked the D drive (iPod),,,properties...check for errors...opitions were grayed out.
Went to RB dev builds...download stable release...download installer (big button)......windows...dl a zip...
unzip...got to rb utility..says stable release (on dropdown) is 3.13...hit "Install"...progress..not responding..then dl "successfully"
....and then...shazaammmm it's fixed!!

Thanks 1,000,000
