Some songs don't show up in database

(1/2) > >>

XtrGamer:
I'm using v3.13 on Clip+. Certain albums of certain artists (or in some cases, certain artists or certain songs of an album) simply don't show up in the database. I can find the songs in Files, but they don't play. However, I know that the problem is not with the files because they play just fine on the stock OS and my PC.

Removing the files, updating database, adding files and updating again doesn't solve the problem. I've even tried re-installing Rockbox. Tags are fine.

saratoga:
First, update your build to the current dev build. 3.13 is ancient.

Second, what files don't play?

XtrGamer:
Alright, though I think I downloaded the installer from my device's page on the dev builds section. Could you please please link me the latest dev build for the Sandisk Sansa Clip+?

The files are mp3, my SD card is FAT32 and I am formatting it rn (same format).

I have a bunch of flacs, but they work fine.

saratoga:
Check the "dev builds" link on the left side of your screen or use the installer and select a development build.

Virtually all decodable MP3 files will work with rockbox, so if yours aren't, something is wrong with them.  If you want you can post one of them and I can take a look at it.

XtrGamer:
I found out that some of the albums and certain songs of some albums were/weren't tagged with contributing artists. So I decided to tag all songs with the contributing artists (previously only album artist).

I then formatted my device, installed the latest dev build of Rockbox and updated the database, with no difference whatsoever, except now the problem files in Rockbox don't play in Sansa either all of a sudden. Some of the songs that don't show up in Rockbox start in Sansa with a few short, sharp bursts of static, after which the song continues as normal. This continues for the entire album, with the exact same pattern of static for the songs of an album, but different for different albums. Still working fine on PC though.

So I've uploaded two files, one good and bad.

Bad: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-0eogXImQXkTnhhSzBFeUtvSkU

Good: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-0eogXImQXkaFM0eDVVNUEzSTg

Please help me. The bad file is skipped entirely on Sansa, BTW.
