AGPTek H1 / Aigo MP3-108
« on: August 05, 2016, 05:56:16 AM »
Hello!
Yesterday I received my new DAP, the AGPTek H1 (also known as Aigo MP3-108).
Is there any plan to port RockBox on this model?
I see that user hunterleo is here, he's working for the AGPTek.
I hope he answers here with other RockBox developers.
Best regards,

kalo86

Hi,
hunterleo will probably answer better than me but since he told us none the current AGPTek satisfy the hardware requirement for a Rockbox port AND his company is working on a new Rockable player, I assume this one cannot be ported to Rockbox.

Hi pamaury,

Thank you for the clear answer.
This DAP H1 is not listed on the main web site AGPTek, maybe we have a further chance for hardware compatibility?
Anyway, let's wait for his reply.
Regards,

Hi,

AGPTek H1 is not capable of porting with Rockbox. However, your support is a great encouragement for us to make a better Rockbox player. Let me know what do you think of H1.

Thanks again,

Leo

Hi hunterleo, thanks for replying to my posts.
About the AGPTek H1 I have only very good and positive words.
I have tested also the Xduoo X3 and I think (in my honest opinion) that this H1 is really good and better (not so much better than Xduoo X3 but I prefer H1 in terms of sound quality).
There is something that I really don't understand: why volume is decreased when you choose any on the available EQ presets? Also with the custom EQ, the volume level will drop drastically.
In general I'm using the EQ off for this reason and, luckily, with the EQ off the sound quality is good for me.
If this issue (which I still consider a bug) could be fixed, the AGPTek could be the best DAP on the market.
With other players, powered or not by RockBox firmware, when you select an EQ preset you don't hear any sound level drop.
This "bug" is still present in other AGPTek audio players which I tested and which I had to return for this issue: AGPTek B03, AGPTek M20, AGPTek A02.
I would like to know the reason of this behavior EQ preset - audio volume if it's possible to you to explain here.
The possibility to have the RockBox firmware on H1 would be the Ultimate DAP killer.
Please take my words as a "hope".
I have written these words also to the assistance of AGPTek but I did not get any answer.

Hi hunterleo,

I like also H1 and it's a very interessting and good player.

But can you explain why it's not possible to obtain a Rockbox port on H1 : we have inside a Rockbox compatible CPU (Ingenic 4760B) and same DAC like iBasso DX50...

So, few other questions :

- Consider that CPU and DAC are 24/96 capable, why AGPtEK limits H1 (and IMP also) capabilities?
- AGPtEK need to make an effort for translations in their firmware

Thank you for any answer!

Hi clbrk,

How do you know that the AGPTek H1 has the Ingenic 4760B CPU?
I hope hunterleo answers to our questions.

Hi clbrk and kalo86,

H1 hasn't a Rockbox compatible CPU. It's ATJ2129 with DAC.

Thank you,

Leo

This player has a very simple CPU that cannot easily be reprogrammed to do other things, so it is very unlikely to have any alternative firmware beyond those provided by the manufacturer.

I was satisfied with the sound. But software is stupid.
I must take many steps to add a song to playlist from folder manager.
Can't search songs by alphabetic sequence.
