The component that handles the charging is the BQ24022 from Texas Instruments. It allows charging via the USB bus but the IRIVER Company did not use that opportunity.

For this, simply connect the pins 2 and 7 of BQ24022 on pin 1 of the USB connector.

* Pin 7 sets the BQ24022 to allow USB charging.
* Pin 2 of BQ24022 corresponds to the voltage charging via USB.

Here are two pictures of the assembling.

Thank you to my electrician colleague for his help.

I did this modification and battery charging works, but the charging indicator led during charging does not light up.
Is this normal for this mod or I did something wrong?

I made this change because I lost the charger.

Yes the charging LED does not light up but the battery charge is working normally (slower by USB).

My colleague and I did not investigate why the led does not turn on.
