Do I Need to Format a Micro SD?
(1/1)
wolfie138:
as per the title, ther's a load of conflicting info/opinions when i google this, so i thought i'd ask directly when i'm going to be using it.
got a Clip+, got the lasted Dev build as per my other thread about Win10 not recognising the player. after an initial success, i'm back to square 1 and it seems my micro SD is faulted; i tried a couple scan/repairs, but Windows isn't having any luck, so i thought i'd get a new Micro SD, 16GB. i was half wondering if i shuld have formatted this current one, so googled, and got nowt but confused. So;
do i need to format or not? and, if so what format? if it's FAT32 i take it i need a special util as Windows won't FAT that high.
also, just as an aside/curious - when you're sticking new music on an expansion card, what's the preferred method, connecting the player up w/ the car in, or taking the card out and using an adaptor? or does it make no difference?
TIA
saratoga:
SD card needs to be fat32. You can add files however you want.

cheers bud.
i wonder if my current card is glitching cos it's not formatted and not cos it's damaged.
