Can't get Clip Plus recognised by Windows 10 :-(
(1/1)

Hi, hoping someone can help me w/ this.
i've got a Sansa Clip Plus, had it for a couple years now, rockboxed a long time, v3.13 according to the message on boot up. it has a micro SD for additional music; when i plug into my computer, which has just recently migrated fromWin 7 Home Premium to Win10, i get the musical connected tone, and two new drives appear in the tree; there's a long pause, then the diconnect tones and the drives vanish. i've tried a couple cables, a couple ports. Device Manager is saying something about device descriptor request failing. i've got a bunch of Event 51s, but i'mnot sure they're relevant. took the Clip to my other machine that's still W7, works no prob. someone advised having the Clip switched on when i plug it it, just tried that, no joy.
thanks in advance.

With latest dev build you have same problem?
wolfie138:
i haven't tried it, i tend to keep away from all development builds for things like this until they get teh official release. has the latest had some Win10 compatability work done on it?
saratoga:
There has been a lot of work generally. 3.13 is 3 years old at this point.

got the latest, all works fine now :-)
when i plugged in the W10 machine found it instantly and came up "there's a fault on the drive, scan to fix it", so i clicked ok, it came up "faults found, click to repair (recommended)", so i did ~ it had a bit think and finally said "disck scanned, no faults found" :-|
must've just been trolling me!
cheers
