IHP-120 Wired Remote on Rockbox

Iriver120 user:
I recently purchased an Iriver IHP-120 that runs the rockbox software, I have another of the same model running the Iriver software.

Is it normal for the play/pause button on the wired remote to be completely useless and not functional or is this a problem with the remote?
