I don't think that is going to make any difference.

It did stop the issue of turning off and on again over and over again, however I am monintoring the battery life and it seems to be going down without it even being used (no music playing or any headphones or cables plugged into it)

Do ipods with Rockbox have battery draining issues inherent to their design?

Thanks again

No, the device uses no power at all when off (thats how the hardware works, nothing to do with rockbox).

Ok,

Well mine keeps draining although I am not using it and nothing plugged into it. Do you think it is a hardware or a software issue?

Thanks again

If its off no software is running, so its not a software issue...

Edit:  Might also be worth checking that the battery is actually draining and not just that its old and the battery gauge has become inaccurate.
