Keeps rebooting every minute - drains battery

<< < (3/4) > >>

I just went into the 'Start Sleep Timer (0:05)' and when it reached 5 minutes it said 'shutting down' and then it went to the apple logo, then to the rockbox logo, then to the menu screen.

It seems that everytime the ipod goes into sleep mode, it shuts down and then is prompted to start up again with out being touched. There is no headphones of cables attached to it.

Any thoughts on this?

It seems like the ipod is always on and can not sleep so it is draining the battery. And when I set the rockbox to either 'idle poweroff' for 1 minute or if I 'Start Sleep Timer (0:05)' it shuts down the ipod and restarts it again without any touch.

What to do?

Does powering off the player manually work?

mmazzotta99:
How do you do that? That is what I want to happen, but it always just seems like the ipod is on. With a factory ipod, when you touch the click wheel it takes some time for the ipod to come on, but with this 1tb ipod with rockbox installed the ipod can be sitting for hours and if you touch the click wheel it responds immediately like it has always been on

Thanks for your time on this

saratoga:
Check the manual for buttons.

If you can't get it to power off at all, maybe you have the hardware problem described in this thread:  http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=19666.0

mmazzotta99:
I see the thread said it could be a hardware or a software issue.

If it is a software issue, could it be as easy as - when I loaded music files onto the ipod I noticed that there was files on the ipod that seemed to be associated with Rockbox, however when I loaded music onto the ipod those files got deleted or lost. Dose the ipod need certain files to be on the ipod that can be accidentally lost or erased that could cause this problem?
