TimeStretch on Archos Recorder V1??

I can't seem to find the option to turn on TimeStretch as the manual states.

Is this unsupported on the Recorder V1?

I think it's not supported on hwcodec devices since they do everything in hardware and you're stuck with what the hardware does.
