If I understand correctly, these are updates to the 170609? If so, I'd be interested in testing it out. Please let me know what i need to do.

Those are patches that merge the source code into the rockbox tree.  No idea if this is even safe to try on a real device, but here is a binary for the x3:

(...I have a strong suspicion that this is another hibi_player-on-Linux device..)
