[Sansa Clip+] car radio connection

Hi,
I change clip+ from 4GB to 8GB.
Now I have problem with car radio connection.
After USB plug on - freeze with "USB cable switch icon" on LCD (even on radio mode and disc mode not only USB mode).
Only hard reset help to get up sansa.
Please help me.

I didn't even know you could connect a Clip+ to a radio using the USB connection (if this is what you mean)?

I use either the headphone socket to Aux In on the car radio or to an FM Transmitter in the work van which doesn't have an Aux In on its radio.

I always used the usb connection to connect Clip+ to radio with my 4GB Sansa.
Then everything was OK. Now with 8 GB is  the problem and I don't know why.

There is a Car Adaptor Mode setting under

Settings -> General Settings -> System

You could try changing that?

Sorry is my fault. I am not enough precise.
I connect Sansa without card.
I changed 4GB Sansa to 8GB Sansa.

Sorry, my misunderstanding.

Have you doubled checked each and every setting in the 8GB model to make sure it is the same as the 4GB model.  I can't find any setting in my Rockboxed Clip+ relating to allowing to be read as USB memory by a car radio although there is reference to it in the standard firmware user guide.

Now found out how to change the USB setting:-

1)  Boot up into Sansa standard firmware by holding the Left button while you power it on;

2)  Go to  Settings -> USB Mode which will allow you to change between Auto (detect), MTP and MSC;

3)  Try changing USB Mode;

4)  Power off on power on again into the Rockbox firmware and see if that makes a difference.

I note that there is another setting in Rockbox called Hide Internal Memory but as you are not using a memory card I don't think that is relevant.

I assume you use a USB connection to you car radio as you find it easier to browse and change music from the radio while you are driving rather than fiddle with the small screen on the Clip+ itself?  I don't tend to change music on my Clip+ while actually on the move but will consider that for my next long trip.

Just tried it in my car and it works with all three USB Mode settings.  Had to hide the internal memory though (I use that just for ad hoc recordings) for my radio (Pure Highway H260DBi) to see my music collection on a 32GB memory card.

Just so we're absolutely clear, no setting changed in the SanDisk firmware is going to have any governance over the behaviour of Rockbox, regardless of what you might convince yourself of through observational bias.

Sorry it is not working for me.
I have changed MSC to Auto (detect) then to MTP and still nothing.
Only Freezing on each mode and hard reset to get up Sansa.
Sorry.
Any other idea?

Hi again.
Now It is works!!!!
I had deleted all file from .rockbox folder the copied the contests that folder from rockbox site.
Now everything works perfectly.

Glad you got it working which I can't claim any credit for but at least I learnt something useful about my Clip+ along the way. 

That said I will stick with using the headphone / aux input method as I mostly use it for stop / start delivery driving and it takes a while to re-read the USB directory info each time (apart from which most of the work van radios don't have a USB input anyway).  I also keep a copy of my music on my phone which provides an even easier interface to browse and choose music to play.
