We still are working on this issue. We aim at players below $50, but the low cost chip seems not quite suitable for rockbox. Can you give some advice? Thanks.

Indeed I know of  a few others who have Sansa devices which are now either dying (batteries/jacks) or dead.
With no RockBox capable 'current' clip style dedicated multi-format players in sight, I'm watching this thread with interest.
