Same shit for me... So u wonna say dat i can say goodbuy to my player? Cant load to player. Not into rockbox, not into sansa firware... It freezes on rockbox boot screen and if i load to an original firware it stops on "updating database".

If you turn off the player, hold select while plugging into the USB port, can you get into the bootloader USB mode?  If so, you can try reformatting the file system. 

If that doesn't work it may just be a bad flash memory chip.
