Now that there is no more Sansa Clip+, I hope SanDisk is gearing towards a USB Type-C successor to the AS3525v2 processor. And a >30 hour battery and stereo audio recording to seal the deal [BAMM!] ;D
That package would nuke the competion >:D
The main advantage of Type-C over micro/mini USB ports include several fold durability.

I hope the SanDisk folks who monitor Rockbox community see this thread.

Sandisk doesn't mp3 players and hasn't for a few years.  They rebrand existing devices. 

If you want to address Sandisk, you could try their forums, but since they're not really in this business anymore I don't know that there is anyone there watching.

I have a Sansa (sandisk) clip+ with Rockbox which I'm very happy with. If we assume Sandisk will no longer make a comparable unit which will run Rockbox, what is the closest mp3player to the clip+, in terms of features more than price?
