Third Party > Repairing and Upgrading Rockbox Capable Players
I lost my iRivers H320. rockbox won't start
ariskouk:
I was happy all these years with my iRiver H320 (non US) bought on2005 so i bought another one (US).
I had the Rockbox and everything was perfect.
Suddenly Rockbox won't start. On my Windows XP appear as a shortcut and must click on it to see the contents.
Maybe the problem is a virus.
Any idea ?
There is any way to erase everything and do a fresh installation ?
I saw i can put an ssd. How i can do that and you thing this gonna fix the problem ?
(Both of the players have the same problem and this is the strange !!!)
wodz:
First check Iriver's filesystem for errors.
ariskouk:
where can i check that ?
Using the rockbox utility i can install again the rockbox, but after 2-3 restarts rockbox wont open.
"Bootloader cant open".
And when i connect to PC (Windows XP) the autoplay doesnt open.
And the files i have on the drive are:
.rockbox
RECORD
H300 (shortcut)(20GB)
H300.hex
On my Mac mini i cant open the "H300 (shortcut)(20GB)" too.
Is there a way to format or something and return back to the original system ?
How i can delete the rockbox bootloader ?
ariskouk:
Finally i have my iriver back !!!
There is a virus named "usb shortcut virus".
Here the solution http://vintaytime.com/1250/remove-shortcut-virus/

There's absolutely zero reason why Rockbox would fail to start with a shortcut inside the storage volume.
