Using larger micro sd
« on: February 11, 2016, 06:34:53 PM »
Hi, I have a Sansa Scandisk E250. The issue I am having is when I try to use a larger capacity microsd with flac files on it. I have about 3GB on a Sankisk 32GB card. I have put on various folders Aretha Franklin, Led Zepplin and Simon and Garfunkel. The Led Zepplin seems to play fine right of the "micro SD1" location but the other two "stutter" or "pause" about every five seconds or so. Also the volume wheel doesn't work properly when I play the files that "stutter".  I have tried to play them on the computer and they all play fine. Would I be better off reformating my E250 and trying from the start? If I do that do I need to reload my original Sansa firmware or can I run just the Rockbox? I have searched the forums and I haven't found an answer. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, I reset the rockbox settings thinking I might have done something. I ran into kind of the same issues when I modified the EQ settings with suggested settings off the net. It is currently turned off.

What format are the files? It sounds like they're too slow for your player to decode in real-time.

Edit since you mention eq stutter post your config.cfg file contents here.

They are flac files. I can't believe that I didn't mention that.

I also don't see a way I can post the config. cfg file

Post the config file.

Also, sampling rate of the files?

don't know how to post the config file if you mean the config.cfg file. I don't have a way to read the sample rate of the flac file.

ok found the sample rate at least. It is a 24 bit 19,2000 sample rate.
The file that plays fine is 16bit and 44,100. Is that the issue? too big to play on the E250?

Well I knocked it down to 16 bit and it plays fine. I really had NO idea what I was doing, what was wrong etc. I d/led Audacity and changed it and it works fine. You kinda walked me to the right path to take and I appreciate it!
