Player recommendations

Sorry, I couldn't find a more generic topic for this.

I have Sansa Clip + with Rockbox, that seems to be dying now, so I started looking for a replacement. I can probably get another Clip +, but just want to know what are my other options. Maybe something with color display, to play doom on. ;-)

Someone on the #rockbox irc recommended Creative Zen and those seem easily available and cheap to get at where I am, but the port is marked unusable.

My personal favorite is the iPod 6G (aka classic).
It's got a big screen and good buttons for playing doom. Trust me ;)
It might still be the case that Doom  won't work out of the box on the classic, but there's a patch that works around the issue in gerrit.
