Recommendations for a music player

I'm in the market for a new player but I have a slightly odd requirement. I need a player that DOESN'T have a microphone or records sound on the player itself (It's a long story as to why). I currently have a Clip Zip that works very well but that has a microphone and records as do the rest of the Sansa range. I've looked at a Sony NWZ-E384 but I'm wondering if the community can think of a better alternative?

Your only option then is one of the supported iPod models. Those fill your criteria.
