Sansa + Resume Playback issues
drbald1:
Here's the current config. I just checked again, and it's still doing the same thing.
Bookmarks work ok. I just have to manually load the last bookmark. So, that's my current workaround, but it's not a real fix.

I would start by disabling "autoresume enable" and "autoresume next track", or maybe "autoload bookmarks". I think I remember seeing all of those somehow implicated in playback issues.
I believe they are called "Enable automatic resume", "Resume on automatic track change", and "Load Last Bookmark".
If none of those help, it would be useful to know if you get the same issue with all settings at their default values. The easiest way for that is probably to just move the config file out of the way.
You may already have seen these, but here are some other forum threads that might be of interest:

I disabled "load last bookmark", "Autoresume enable" and "autorresume next track", leaving the start screen to "resume playback."
Same issue. Back to the front of the playlist.
Disabled bookmarks. Back to the front of the playlist.
Set start screen to "settings" rather than "resume playback". Enabled "autoresume". Back to the front of the playlist.
And so on, and so on....
I may be wrong, but over the last three weeks I believe I've tried every configuration I can think of. Same thing... back to the front of the playlist.

This is a really inefficient way to troubleshoot. Since it worked for me with just that one setting, why don't you make a back up copy of your settings, delete the config file from your player and try setting just the one setting needed. Later, once you've figured out his this problem and if you decide you need all those other settings, you can put them back.
On a side note, a lot of those settings look funny to me. Are you sure you want to 64 Hz band to +11 dB? Probably that turns all your music to a scratchy rumbling sound.

I'll do that when I get enough time to monkey with it that long. Hopefully that will be later today.
I hope I'm communicating clearly. I have tried that one setting. In fact, that was the very first thing I tried. I assumed "Resume playback" as a start screen would resume playback from the point where the player stopped.
So I can tell you that default settings with only Start Screen: Resume Playback changed does not resume a playlist from the point it was stopped. It returns to the beginning of that playlist.
By the way, this was prior to adjusting any other settings. I'm sure my other settings are funny, largely because I've spent very little time trying to sort them out. Why bother if Rockbox can't start my playlist from the same point I stopped it without me manually reloading a bookmark?
