Sansa + Resume Playback issues

Can you tell me the exact steps I need to reproduce this? Config file, playlist file, etc?

Well, I spent a significant amount of time monkeying with it over the last week or so, to no avail.
I saved & deleted the config., essentially starting over. I left every setting alone save "Resume Playback" in Startup options. No luck. Played 4-5 songs out of a playlist and shut the Clip+ down. Restarted a few minutes later and it's the same story: it doesn't resume playback, it restarts the playlist from song 1.
After seeing all the threads on this and given the last week, I'm pretty sure rockbox isn't for me. I love the flexibility it gives, but in the end I need the most basic features to work reliably.
Thanks for trying to help me! I'll keep my eye on things....maybe Rockbox will be an option for me in the future.

I have a Clip Plus, and I've had Rockbox on it pretty much as long as I've had it. Some years, anyway.
I have NEVER had a problem with playlists resuming where I left them. (They tend to rewind about 30 seconds, which is handy for remembering what's going on in podcasts -- I listen to a LOT of podcasts.) Never.
So it's got to be a setting. I don't claim any deep expertise but I'm at least reasonably confident that I never had to do anything to make it work; it just did.
The only things I can think might affect it: presumably Rockbox has to write the position data somewhere prior to shutdown, so maybe there's an issue there? Space, maybe? Or permissions?
Could it be theme related?
Would it help if I posted my config?
