Adding/Playing Playlist from PC

My old beloved iPod 4th-gen finally kicked the bucket. Replaced it with a Clip+, rockboxed it, and loaded up a microSD with all my music. So far everything seems to be working OK, except I'm having a hard time figuring out how to get it to shuffle my whole library. I read that to do so required me to create a playlist from the whole library, so I exported one from iTunes as an m3u, and dropped it into my playlists folder. It appears on the Clip, and I can select it, but even with shuffle off it selects a random song which then doesn't actually play. I can skip tracks, but after four skips it kicks me back to the playlist menu. I'm a bit of an idiot so I'm certain I'm doing something wrong, but I can't for the life of me figure out what.

If you playlist doesn't work on the device, probably the paths it lists aren't correct for the files on the device (probably because they point to files on your PC).

Possible workarounds:  create the playlist in rockbox so the paths are correct, or place the M3U on the sd card and see if that fixes the paths.
