Sansa Fuze+ lag on MP3 songs

(1/1)

Sanjix:
I have the same problem like hal rockwell, so I will repeat his question here:

I have a Sandisk Sansa Fuze+ 4GB with 64GB SD card running the latest Rockbox revision. After about a half an hour of playback, or at some Songs everytime, the player starts to lag - it doesn't respond to the buttons and the music stops for a moment and than resumes again. It repeats itself every 15 seconds or so. I happens only when I play MP3 files and doesn't happen with any other format I tried. With earlier Rockbox revision everything was fine.

Please can you help me? This is making me crazy!

Huge album art maybe?  Sounds like the buffering thread is stuck processing something, like too big JPEGs.

I am also facing this issue. In some particular songs (320kbps CBR I think) the player slows down, interface becomes laggy and music skips every 15 seconds. To troubleshoot this issue I removed all of the album arts, moved my music library to internal memory but the bug still occurs. Only hard reset fixes the problem (until next time). I just bought this mp4 so I dont know if this bug existed in earlier builds. Please take a look at this because this bug renders the device unusable. I am willing to try any suggestions to help find the cause of this

So after some trial and error I found that haas surround and perceptual bass enhancement are causing the problem. So for now, you can either disable these two or increase the boost_counter to, let's say 90, from the debug menu
