Interface function more like stock clip+?
(1/1)
elvisish:
* On the stock clip+, if you turned the player on, it would begin to play the last track you were listening to instantly.
* If an album or folder finished the last track, and you were on the menu, you could wait until the screen went off or press Home to return to the folder or album you were last listening to. Now I can't find my way back to the last album or folder I am in, it says 'nothing to resume' and I have to find the artist name and album again. Usually, if an album has finished, I will press back and change an album by the same artist.
* If I am in the menu, and the screen goes off, I would like it to default me back to the currently playing track, rather than my last place in the menu, otherwise I have to press home twice to return to the track.
* When I press pause and I'm not on the current track, but instead was last in the menu, and my screen is off, I will have to repeatedly press home to get to current track to pause it.
Can these various little idiosyncrasies be changed at all?

That would be confusing to people operating the player without looking at it. Especially blind people. On some players you can achieve this with a single button press, but the Clip+ doesn't have enough buttons for this.

Again, not enough buttons. Plus, automatically switching screens is confusing and not wanted.

No. Those are not idiosyncrasies. Plus, you can configure things. I really recommend reading the manual. People have spent quite a lot of time writing it.[/list]

Unfortunately, if I follow the menu down to another level, and the screen goes off, and I want to carry on, it takes me back to the same point in the menu. Is there no way of having the menu return to the currently playing track position in the folder/database when the screen goes off?

I use my clip whilst running, and I don't like to unclip it every time I change track folders, I can navigate to a different folder from memory as long as it returns to the current track if I give it a moment for the screen to go off. Having it keeping at whatever position in the menu makes it difficult to navigate from memory.

Not wanted by some, but it was perfectly good enough for me with the stock firmware, rockbox just does everything else better (database caching, battery longevity, music formats, etc

I meant that they weren't huge issues, just little changes that I wanted to adjust to conform to what I was used to.
