How to Rockbox SanDisk Sansa?

1.) How do I Rockbox the SanDisk Sansa player?

2.) Is this Rockbox for the Sansa stable or unstable?

The version I have is V01.01.18A

Google says that version is a Clip Zip, so you can use the instructions in the Clip Zip manual and install with rockbox utility.

I tried to rockbox yesterday and using the rockbox utility I left the bootloader checked but it required to download some kind of BIN file and I had no clue so I unchecked it and just did the install. Did I do this right? Or no?

Did it work?  If so, you did it right

You'll need to provide a firmware update file from sandisk though.  You can download it from the sandisk website, and I think the installer actually gives you a link to the webpage.

Do you mean keep the bootloader option checked and it will give me the link to SanDisk to download the firmware update?

Am I suppose to see the rockbox logo on the Clip Zip? If yes, than no it did not work. It gives the official logo.

I did. And it does not mention the bootloader options for the "automated" installation. It does give the bootloader options but for "manual" installation. I could tell you right now when leaving the bootloader option checked it requires to download the BIN file. And after reading that link, no it did not work because according to that link the player was suppose to restart and my player did not restart.

Yes, in 2.2 it tells what the bootloader is but does not tell how to install it with a BIN file and the utility does not provide that and I have to download it myself.
