23rwge:
hello friends

i write to ask a solution for my player, the sansa clip zip.
Whenever i start it, it says "loading boot 4.0" and then is just stuck there.
So i press and keep pressing the power button, forcing it to shut down. Then i tried pressing and keep pressing the power button (with the mp3 powered down) where it says:

Loading firmware
Length: 97B60
Checksum: 3BFA9E
Model name: clzp
loading rockbox.

and keeps ""loading"" in reality it does nothing.
what should i do? how can i solve this problem?

thanks everybody who responds, very appreciated.

Reboot into the sandisk firmware and then check the disk for errors and/or reinstall rockbox.  Probably something got corrupted.

Tor:
Hold left (<<) while turning the player on to accomplish this - in the manual but not always easy to spot if you aren't familiar with it.

i cant boot into the sandisk fimware because when i do, it says "refresing media" and after a while it just shows a static screen. And gets stuck there.

i thought the button combination to access the sandisk firmware was power button+volume down?

update: after a while it didnt even show the

"Loading firmware
Length: 97B60
Checksum: 3BFA9E
Model name: clzp
loading rockbox.

and only showed the "boot 4.0" screen whatever i did, (power on, press and keep pressing power on, connect to pc, power etc.)
An user in the mailing list suggested leaving the player without power for a day.
It did help a little, as of now it shows the the "boot 4.0" if i power it on, and if i keep pressing it shows the code part with the checksum etc.

Still, it wont turn on properly, and i cant access the checkdisk because i cant even access the player.  :-[

Mihail Zenkov:
When player off - try hold select (middle button) and connect it to usb. Then try check disk for errors or format it and reinstall rockbox.
