Sansa sandisk clip plus very slow on startup & other trouble

Firstly thank you so much to all those who created rockbox i love it (especially all the extra settings it gives and increased playback speed). I have been using rockbox version 3.13 on my sansa clip plus for about a year without any problems. About 2 weeks ago things started going weird. If i recall correctly it started after i copied a recording off a friends sd card although that may just be  coincidenc. At first the player would just not turn on until the battery ran flat. Then it functiond normally for about a week. Now when it turns on the screen stays at the rockbox start screen for about 6 minutes and then it goes to the menu screen where it works but very slow for about another 3 minutes while the disk busy icon is lit. After that everything works normally except the radio and shuffle. When the radio is selected it turns on and plays but the screen stays  on the menu and non of the buttons work. Sometimes this resolves itselfe after a few minutes  otherwise i have to do a reset. When shuffle is selected sometimes it works and sometimes it does not but the shuffle icon shows. I cant seem to find any posts with a similar problem. Sorry for the lenght of this post but i thought that more details  would make the problem easier to work out. Thanks.

Could check the file system for errors, but that does sound strange.  I don't think I've ever heard of that happening.

Okay worked out how to do that and the problem seems to be fixed although i am not sure if that is what fixed it since after connecting and removing my DAP from the pc to back it up before running file system check it seemed fixed, does windows scan drives automatically?
Anyway there was 766 files in the FOUND.000 folder each 32 kb long and when i changed the extension to mp3 and played them they were 2 second sections of a podcast i had deleted.
