recent discman with rockbox?
« on: May 16, 2015, 04:37:14 PM »
Hi Guys,

after looking for customizable discman units, i came across Rockbox and this forum. I hope you guys can lead me into the right direction.

I am looking for a discman that can play mp3 CD´s with the possibility of a sleep timer (e.g. automatic stop after 20 min.)
As far as i understand Rockbox, this should be no problem from the software side, but do you guys know any recent and still available Discman that can run Rockbox? My wife likes to listen to audio books in bed, and we get most of our audio books as mp3 CDs or normal CDs from our local library.

The other alternative would be stationary unit, and any helpful pointers here would also be appreciated, but we would prefer the portable discman alternative.

Thanks for your help guys.

I don't think rockbox has ever run on a portable CD player type device.

Thanks for the answer, even if it is a bit disapointing. But i only had a post in another forum somewhere in the deep hidden depths of the internet that indicated that a portable CD player with Rockbox should be possible. So i thought i´d ask the professionals... :)

Anyway, thanks for the fast reply, i guess i´m going to have to look for alternatives.
