Is possible to use iPod select key to toggle scroll wheel to slide song in time?

Hi, I try to search for this question in this forum and also by google, but I don't find it. So I ask here.
I would like to know if it is (somehow - by right config. settings or by use some plugin) possible to use iPod's middle/center select button/key simillar way how it works in original iPod firmware - it is toggling of scroll wheel function between volume versus fast 'sliding' of song current play time position forward or backward. Especially I'm missing the change current play time position function. RockBox manual says that pressing of select button shortly during playing of song returns to the File browser / Database, but this can be also accessed by Menu button, isn't it? Is there for example another reason to not support scroll wheel as a time slider? - For example due to RockBox player can't then guarantee fast enough reaction to change time position for all supported audio file formats? - If so, I will be sad, but accept/understand it.
