Ipod Classic 6G - emCore Infinite Boot Loop after Database ran
« on: March 19, 2014, 01:00:28 PM »
Installed Rockbox without problems and copied over all my music over successfully. Was able to listen to music with no problem. After the database was completed, RockBox started to go on an infinite loop. I was able to get to the emCORE load menu, but after attempting to reboot into Rockbox, I currently get a flashing white screen with "emCORE v0.2.3 r859". There is some text before that, but it is gone before I can tell what it says.

I have not been able to hard reset into DFU mode. What steps should I take next?

I'm having the same problem. I've had an iPod Classic running Rockbox with no problems for a couple of years. emCORE v0.2.3 r859, Rb 17f265d-131217.

I coped some music over to it today, and it unmounted itself from the computer. I could verify that the files had been written, but then, on reboot it spends several minutes scanning the disk and then says:
Code: [Select]
Prefetch abort at 65FD2CB4
FSR 0x5
(domain 0, fault 5)

I've used the emCORE menu to clear out the Rockbox settings and database, and to try loading a fallback image (r31516-120101), which says:
Code: [Select]
Data about
at 0805731C
FSR 0x5
(domain 0, fault 5)
address 0x67676F2E

I can't connect the iPod to my computer in either regular or UMS mode, so I'm at a loss to know what I could try next. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

maybe the battery is just empty. try cto connect it to a wall socket because usb ports sometimes dont have enough power.

hold menu and center, 15 seconds, it goes of and on then a hard click and it stays off. You have to unpress the buttons by that time. Now you can use bootstrap util, to make it visible in your pc as umsboot drive. You can now install a new emcore, the ubi files.
