"Works with"-criteria in Theme Repository (re: Cabbie Plus)
(1/1)
Elbart:
Hello.
I'd like to ask which features must be broken or non-functional to judge a theme
as not working with a given version of Rockbox.
I was testing "Cabbie Plus" on a Sansa e200 and noticed these problems:
1.) All the conditional(?) icons in the bottom row are flickering/reset every
time a song is skipped.
2.) When skipping from a track with cover-art to one without, the top quarter
of the cover-art stays visible on the screen between "Now playing" and the
track number.
3.) When skipping from a track with cover-art to another one with cover-art,
eventually the first cover-art is still shown for the second track, even if they
have different cover-arts. This bug seems to be intermittent and does not happen
every time.
4.) When playing a track with cover-art, and you go into the context menu
and back to the WPS, the cover-art is gone.
I could reproduce these errors on the device and in the UI-simulator with
RB-versions 3.13 and a recent dev-build.
In the Repository, this theme is marked as working with 3.13 and
recent dev-builds.

It checks that a theme contains valid commands that can be parsed. The validation script running on a computer has no idea if the theme actually works as the author intended.
