Improving Battery Life on my Sansa Clip+
(1/1)
dpitch40:
I just installed Rockbox on my new Sansa Clip+ and it is working great! Unlike the stock firmware it can detect all the songs on my 32GB memory card; the more efficient use of the screen is also nice. I am a little concerned about my player's battery life, though. I have the contrast set to minimum and the backlight time set to 5 seconds, but after less than 6 hours of listening it says I have about 6 hours 45 minutes left, which seems short of the projected 15 hour life. Is Rockbox supposed to improve the battery life of the Sansa Clip+ (as Wikipedia claims)? What else can I do to help?

Battery life is a lot longer than the stock firmware.

If anything, it seems slightly worse for me. (i.e. 6.5 hours of listening drain the battery more than before, by about 1/2 instead of 1/3) Could my player be doing anything in the background to drain the battery faster?
