XDUOO X2 Port possible?
« on: April 10, 2015, 08:38:36 AM »
The XDUOO X2 is called the Sansa Clip successor because of its quite good amplifier.

The sound is very good, the Interface, however, is a mess.

It seems to have a  Artek ak2117c http://wenku.baidu.com/view/32878a01763231126edb1157.html multimedia chip.

Would this met the Rockbox requirements?

'51 is 8bit processor. Decoding is handled by dedicated audio and video engine. The ram is tiny as well. So to short things the rb port is not possible for this platform.

200 mW power draw RF amp used for headphone out.  I bet battery life is as good as the ui.

Are you saying that all the audio/video decoding is done in SW in the RockBox OS and using a dedicated "Audio DSP" as is inside the X2 would be too complex to use?
Where can I read about these details?

By the way, the output operational is an lmh6643, a rail to rail voltage amplifier with up to 75mA of output current. I dont understand the "200 mW power draw RF amp used for headphone out." comment.

Thanks

The LMH6643 is specifically designed for low power draw. Its high output current capability makes it a reasonable choice for driving low-impedance headphones, though it's really designed as a video amp.

Basically you need a device with a real CPU, a simple 8 bit microcontroller isn't enough.
