Sansa Clip v1 blank screen 3 seconds after startup?

Bit of an odd problem here. I've had Rockbox installed on my Clip for a year now and I've had no issues until recently. I have no idea if this is a problem with Rockbox or the player itself, but after turning on, it flashes the logo, goes to the main menu and the screen just goes blank. When I press any keys like up or down, the backlight comes on telling me that the software is still running and that the graphical processor in the player could be going out. But here's the kicker: I left it on for about 3 minutes with that blank screen and it suddenly came back on. Rockbox was flashing some GPU status info and I'm not sure exactly what else it displayed after that, but all I know is that before it shut off, I saw "*PANIC*". So.... what does that mean? I tried plugging it into my computer to factory reset it with Rockbox, but my computer won't recognize it for some odd reason. What's going on?![font]
