Ipod classic 6th generation output level too high
Nine:
I managed to sort the problem out. It was the harddrive. I'm using the original iPod firmware. The battery is fine.
I originally installed Rockbox for its in depth sound settings and to escape what I originally thought was a failing firmware due to my large library.
Thank you for your help gents. Much appreciated.
Nine:
As for the concept pertaining to the battery setting, I understand that. I only assumed that it would cause some sort of a malfunction, or force the device to shut down when the perceived or estimated run time was reached.
I was just asking for some advice though the battery or HDD may not be Rockbox related; could an unstable version Rockbox cause Hardware problems on my device?
I'm surprised that there still isn't a proper version for 6th generation iPod.
I guess it doesn't matter now.

No.
I'm unsure what you mean by "estimated run time was reached", perhaps you think it works differently than it does. There is no upper, nor lower bound to be reached. The battery percentile is measured by voltage, and estimated runtime is derived from summing combined draw.

What do you define as 'proper'?
The ipod6g port is perfectly functional. I am unsure what you mean by this.
It might be worthwhile to consider that this project is managed in its entirety by volunteers. If you feel that there is something missing from the project that would make it "proper" in your eyes, I wholeheartedly welcome you to contribute to the project and remedy the situation.
Rockbox is not a product. Rockbox is made by enthusiasts and developers, for enthusiasts and developers. If the general public gets a kick out of it, that's great, but mass public consumption was never, and has never, been the intended goal.
